Photos from your device
Photos you add from your device are read and turned into a video entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers.
Google Photos
If you choose "Google Photos", you sign in with Google and pick photos in Google's own picker. Recap asks only for
photospicker.mediaitems.readonly, which gives access to the items you picked and nothing else in your library.
Our server passes those photos through to your browser so they can be downloaded, without storing, logging or sharing them.
We delete the picking session once the photos are downloaded, and the access token stays in your browser tab.
Recap's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

The finished video is created in your browser and saved only where you download it.
